Building their fanbase In 2022 the East of England Co-op welcomed 13,090 new members. Many of these sign-ups were driven by online advertising campaigns, complimented by in-store activity. 

Improving the daily lives of colleaguesIn 2022 they recruited 1,200 new colleagues and have worked hard to ensure they remain an employer of choice in the region. 

Taking action to help save our planet - This year they became the largest retailer in the East of England to partner with innovative food saving app, Too Good to Go. Since launching in May 2022, they’ve saved 50,000 meals from going to waste. 

Championing local - Supporting the community is at the heart of what the co-operative does. The Community Cares Fund enables them to support a variety of amazing projects and organisations. Their latest round of funding was awarded in December 2022, and they’ve been                            able to support 29 charities and community groups with a reach of more than 17,200 people.

Growing and evolving the business - The East of England Co-op have ambitious growth plans and want to be a top 10 Co-op, which means growing turnover, profitably, by over 25%. To achieve this level of growth they will:

  • Grow the number of food stores they operate, expanding into new territories.
  • Extend the reach of family of businesses.
  • Proactively manage, redeploy capital and develop a resilient property portfolio that provide essential services and supports the development of thriving communities across the East of England.
